After studying medicine, he obtained a doctorate degree in Medical Sciences, investigating the electrophysiological functioning of enteric neurons in larger mamals.

From 2000 until 2003 he specialized in neurology at the University of Antwerp and the UMC in Utrecht. In 2004 he got a supplementary training in electroencephalography at the SEIN Epilepsy center in Heemstede, the Netherlands.

He worked as a neurologist in the AZ Sint-Jozef in Malle from 2005 until may 2014. Since November 2013 he works in his private practice in Deurne.

He works as a general neurologist , with special interest in epilepsy and MS.
